In the sale I saw a hat loom knitting kit.
After making the hat I saw a world of potential and immediately started looking for other items to make. This kit came with a 36 peg loom and I discovered there are several different sizes of these wide gauge circle looms. It had a loom tool used to 'knit' the stiches and a plastic tapestry/bodkin needle for sewing the loom top to form the hat in this particular kit.
YouTube showed me tutorials and instructions to improve my craft including new stiches and techniques similar to knitting and crochet.
There are some brilliant resources and crafters sharing their experience and techniques. I'm in awe of their generosity.
The video to the right is one in a series of stitch demonstrations created by Kristen Mangus of GoodKnit Kisses.
My First Hat
This first hat uses chunky knit wool and the first stitch I learnt, E-Wrap. The top was sewn up to form the hat, but could easily be an iPad or Notebook sock.
Below is the stitch used to make this hat.
