Winter, Spring, Autumn and Winter... I have hats for all seasons. They keep me warm in winter and cool in the summer.
These are my most prolific hats from the last few years. The straw summer hat (pic 1 & 4) was bought for my cousin Hannah's wedding. I have worn it during the last couple of summers. It signals summer has arrived for me. Its become a bit of a groundhog hat! If CJ is wearing the straw hat... It is Summer!
The aubergine peek cap (pic 2) I love but is a tad tight, was to replace my lovely grey peek cap (pic 3) I brought coming back through customs on my Audiences Europe trip to Denmark 2013. I do have a need for general, light weight hats often for bad hair days. This winter I've had my mega warm ear flap hat (pic 5) I picked up coming back from Reykjavik in October 2014
I have wanted to have a go at making my own hats for a while. I was going to take a short course but I just wanted to make. I never seemed to find the time just to do that! I got hold of a sewing machine, but didn't have a space to work in.
My Nan Novis taught me to crochet as a child, so I gave that a go. I did make a couple of hats. In the new year sales I bought a 'loom a hat' kit and I was introduced to the circle loom.
